We left Thursday afternoon to head north to our cottage. It was raining lightly but steadily and kept raining for the next 100 miles or so. We knew there were predictions of a pretty good snowfall and we were moving quickly to beat it. I don't mind being snowed in, but I'm not thrilled with the driving in it.
The temperature was dropping as we went north, the rain hit the windshield a bit harder and slowly turned to wet snow and then began to freeze. The last 50 miles it started snow on top of that slush and we had to slow down a bit. The last 30 miles we had to slow down a LOT more. By the time we hit Cadillac Road it was snow covered ice and we were crawling knowing we had not much in the way of brakes anymore. We made it after a tense finish, and then we woke up to a beautiful snowfall of close to 8", pictures will be posted.
Didn't leave the house Friday except for digging out and taking some shots. This is what Christmas should have been like.
