Vlad was right, this was a much more difficult challenge than expected. Picking what to share and what to throw away became a task.
Anyway these are my 5 things...
In the background me lake in the summer and my yard in the winter, my slice of heaven, or as close as I'll ever be able to afford.
The hawk on the bird bath and the deer in the woods represent my hunting... with a camera.
The black cat in the window is the queen of the house, her real name is Annie, but I have a lot of other names for her. She's the baby (very small) and spoiled rotten and I guess we wouldn't have it any other way. She certainly wouldn't!
There's a picture of my former mistress, a 25 ft Catalina named Ombra II. She was my 4th sailboat and probably my last. One of my true joys in life was sailing solo in the middle of the week when the lake was quiet and semi serene. It gave me that solitude that I seem not to be able to live without. Now I have a little fishing boat, but it's not something you can have an affair with. They say the two happiest days of a boat owners life are the day you buy it, and the day you sell it. I'll always miss it, but the parts of my body that don't cooperate so well anymore won't.
I was born in Canada, lived there 50 years, raised a family there. I guess I'll always be mostly Canadian in thought. After my wife died, I met a beautiful American lady and was also adopted by her daughter and family. Things sometimes work out in the end.
Enough crap about me.
